Located in the charming setting of Martinsville, Illinois, Moonshine Store has garnered a loyal following for its exceptional hamburgers. This hamburger restaurant is a nostalgic gem, offering a unique experience that draws customers from far and wide. The reviews reflect a consensus on the quality of the burgers; patrons rave about their substantial portion sizes, particularly the double and quad cheeseburgers. Wayne Meyer sums it up perfectly: "Great burger!" Many visitors, like Mary Mayday and Maryanne Kinney, appreciate the delightful retro atmosphere, complete with intriguing knick-knacks for sale. They note the importance of cash, as the store does not accept plastic, and the convenience of various tasty sides to accompany the burgers. Customers recommend arriving early to avoid lines, especially since grilling stops at 12:30 PM. Caleb Wendt emphasizes this point, highlighting the fun of Saturday morning gatherings over a hearty meal. Beyond just food, Moonshine Store offers a warm community vibe, making it a memorable stop on any road trip. If you’re seeking a hearty burger experience wrapped in genuine hospitality, this spot is undoubtedly worth the drive.

Bring cash or use their ATM since they don't take plastic. Great place, really nice people. Burgers were amazing. You get a choice of sides such as chips, potato salad, or macaroni salad, with lots of drink options as well. The store itself is a cool throwback to years gone by, with plenty of cool "knick" knacks" to buy. It's a bit out there all by itself. We drove an hour and a half to get there, but well worth the drive.

Always a good way to spend a Saturday morning with great burgers. Last time I went we all ordered the quads. Only 1 guy couldn't finish his. Remember, the grill shuts off at 12:30, so you'll want to get there well before then, in case there is a line.

Get there early to beat the crowd. And pay attention to what you order. Those burgers are HUGE! It was a beautiful day to set under the trees and visit with people from all over the area. Such a neat place. And I could never pass up a Fanta in a glass bottle .

It was by far the best cheeseburgers I’ve ever had! What a great experience of home cooking. We were on a road trip and were told about this place. So glad we went out of our way to experience it! It’s a must go! Thank you for the hospitality and the great food. We Will be back someday.

We rode 4 hours and an overnight stay in Casey just to be there in the morning! Loved the fact that it's out in the middle of completely NO WHERE! The hamburgers were delicious, and when we got back to our bike, we found a Lil Pig on our seat! It was the cutest thing! 2 little girls were playing in front. We Named Her MOON SHINE and took the Honor of sitting next to our BIKER PRAYER plaque

Such a great place. So much memorabilia and old-time fun things. The burger we got didn't look anything like previous pictures posted. But it was still tasty. The tenderloin was a little dry. But in all fairness, we did go for the burger. It was a fun drive and worth the trip.

Got up early for our 2.5hr drive to eat at the Moonshine Store. Was well worth the drive, the burgers were juicy and perfectly cooked. We thought we would have a long wait after ordering, but had our food in about 5 minutes. Just hanging out with all the people, talking and listening to everyone's stories was an experience in its own. Will definitely be back a few more times this year
